Overview
Joshua focuses his practice on representing businesses in federal and state lawsuits, including class action litigation, collective actions, and appellate representation. Joshua has substantial litigation, trial, and appellate experience, having handled hundreds of federal, and state, cases across the nation.
Joshua focuses on Federal Litigation Matters, including, but not limited to:
- Employment Law, including Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Complaints and Cases, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Cases, Sexual Harassment Cases, Hostile Work Environment Claims, Wage Complaints, Civil Rights Cases, Americans with Disability Act Cases, and contract disputes;
- The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA);
- Intellectual property Cases, including trademarks and copyrights; and
- Commercial litigation
Joshua has extensive experience handling federal/state agencies and their investigations, such as the EEOC, the WHD of the Department of Labor, and State AG Offices. Joshua also defends businesses who these agencies have brought court actions against.
Joshua zealously advocates for his clients, through experienced handling of their litigation and trial matters, including when those matters involve appeals. Joshua has participated in the formation of new law, appearing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in oral arguments, and in written form, several times, as well as the Florida Supreme Court. Routinely, Joshua’s arguments have led to published opinions in the United States District Courts, as well.
In addition to defending businesses, Joshua draws on his extensive courtroom experience, in counselling businesses. Joshua aids businesses in employment tasks such as termination, building handbooks, pay and disciplinary systems, time keeping systems, accommodating nursing mothers/pregnant woman and employees with disabilities, arbitration agreements, and policy development.
